No. Frames are read by code running in your browser and never leave your device. The camera only starts when you tap “Start camera”, and stops as soon as a code is found.
Does it open links automatically?
Never. You see the real website name and warnings for common QR-scam tricks first — you decide whether to open it.
Can it read a QR code from a screenshot?
Yes. Upload, drag in or paste (Ctrl/⌘ V) a screenshot or photo — it finds every QR code in the image.
Which formats are supported?
Input: Live camera, or a JPG, PNG or WebP photo or screenshot (several codes per image). Output: The decoded content, plus TXT, PDF, DOCX, HTML, VCF or ICS exports depending on the type.
