Is PDF Editor free?

Yes — completely free, with no signup and no watermarks. PL Tools is supported by a small number of non-intrusive ads.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. PDF Editor runs entirely in your browser, so your files never leave your device and are never sent to our servers.

Is there a file size limit?

Nothing is uploaded, so there's no upload limit — but very large files depend on your device's memory. Files up to about 100 MB work well on most computers; phones may struggle with much larger ones.

Can I change the existing text in my PDF?

Not in place — PDFs store text as positioned glyphs, not editable paragraphs. “Edit existing text” does the next best thing: tap a piece of text and it's covered with the background colour and replaced with an editable copy in a matching size and style.

Does white-out remove the text underneath?

No — white-out only covers it visually; the original text is still in the file and can be copied or found by search. To remove sensitive text for real, use Redact.

What can I add?

Text (sans, serif or handwriting, any size and colour), highlights, white-out, rectangles, ellipses, lines and arrows, freehand drawing, tick marks, dates, images, and your signature or initials. Everything can be moved, resized, duplicated and undone.

Can I type in Hindi or other languages?

Yes. Latin-script text is embedded as real, searchable text. Other scripts (such as Devanagari) are added as a picture of the text so they always look right, but they aren't searchable.

Which formats are supported?
