Is Sign PDF free?

Yes — completely free, with no signup and no watermarks. PL Tools is supported by a small number of non-intrusive ads.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Sign PDF runs entirely in your browser, so your files never leave your device and are never sent to our servers.

Is there a file size limit?

Nothing is uploaded, so there's no upload limit — but very large files depend on your device's memory. Files up to about 100 MB work well on most computers; phones may struggle with much larger ones.

Is this a legally valid signature?

It adds a simple electronic signature: an image of your signature placed on the page. That is fine for many everyday documents (forms, letters, internal approvals). It is not a certificate-based digital signature such as a DSC or Aadhaar eSign — it doesn't prove who signed or lock the file against changes. If a document legally requires a certified digital signature, use an authorised provider.

How do I create my signature?

Type your name and pick a handwriting style, draw it with your mouse or finger, or upload a photo of your signature on white paper — the paper is removed automatically. You can also add initials, today's date, your name and tick marks.

Can it remember my signature?

Only if you tick “Remember it on this device”. It's then kept in this browser's local storage (never on our servers), and you can delete it any time.

Which formats are supported?

Input: PDF, plus a typed, drawn or photographed signature. Output: Signed PDF.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. PL Tools works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, tablets and desktop — there's nothing to install.
