Is Image Studio free?
Yes — free, no signup and no watermark. PL Tools is supported by a few non-intrusive ads.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Every edit happens in your browser and the photo never leaves your device. Background removal uses an AI model that your browser downloads once (from Hugging Face, with its engine from jsDelivr) and then runs locally.
Will saving reduce the quality?
Edits are applied to your original at full resolution when you save (up to about 16 megapixels, the limit phones allow for a canvas). Choose PNG for no quality loss, or JPG/WebP with the quality you want.
How do I make a photo smaller than 50 KB (or 100 KB)?
Open Export, type the limit (for example 50) under “Keep the file under”, and download. Image Studio finds the best quality that fits, and only shrinks the picture's dimensions if it has to. Resizing first (for example to 600 px wide) gives the sharpest result for very small limits.
Is “Enhance” AI?
No — it's classic image processing: automatic levels and colour balance, unsharp-mask sharpening, clarity and edge-preserving noise reduction. It makes photos clearer and brighter, but it can't invent detail that isn't in the photo.
Can I undo?
Yes. Every change can be undone and redone (Ctrl/⌘ Z and Ctrl/⌘ Shift Z), and you can hold the eye button to compare with the original at any time.
What happens to the photo's location and camera data?
The saved file doesn't include EXIF metadata such as GPS location or camera details, so it's safer to share.
