Frequently asked questions

Is EMI Calculator free?

Yes — completely free, with no signup and no watermarks. PL Tools is supported by a small number of non-intrusive ads.

Is anything I type sent anywhere?

No. Every calculation runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded or stored.

How precise are the results?

Standard double-precision arithmetic (about 15 significant digits), shown rounded. Finance results are estimates from the formula stated on screen — lenders and funds may round or charge differently.

How is EMI calculated?

With the standard reducing-balance formula: EMI = P × r × (1 + r)ⁿ ÷ ((1 + r)ⁿ − 1), where P is the loan, r the monthly rate (yearly rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n the number of months. The table shows how much principal and interest you pay each year.

Why is my bank's EMI slightly different?

Banks may round each month, add processing fees or insurance, or use a different day-count. Treat this as a close estimate, and check the lender's schedule before you sign.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. PL Tools works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, tablets and desktop — there's nothing to install.
